After being announced in 2019 with a short teaser and another one 2 years later at E3 2021 that’s all the fans have got so far, Not even the title of the game has been released yet. There was high optimism about having a game trailer at the game awards, which took place in December 2021. Release date expectations?

Nintendo in the previous trailer mentioned the release year for Breath of the Wild 2 to be 2022! There is still a slight chance that the game may get delayed to next year but the latest financial reports from Nintendo reported that the game’s release is on track. Nintendo outlined the launch schedule to all their games including a Spring 2022 window for Advance Wars 1+2, and a 2022 date for Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and “the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” or the un-named Breath of the Wild 2. In case there are no changes, the release date can be estimated to be around the end of 2022 and to further confirm this Peer Schnieder mentioned that Nintendo Plan on releasing the game in November.

Breath of the Wild 2 Summary so far!

The game trailer at E3 2021 was jaw-dropping and full of goosebumps with a dark atmosphere at the start and then suddenly having a flying link with long hair out of nowhere made us all scream and jump out of our seats. The trailer showed many new mechanics and depth to an already deep Hyrule world of Breath of the wild. Floating islands, bokoblins riding on a stone talus and maybe some time rewind or time travel aspects to the combat and the story of the game.

As the Game awards was an in-person event, hence, there was some exchange of words regarding the game. The co-founder of IGN Peer Schneider heard stuff from Nintendo at the game awards. Peer Schneider couldn’t hold back on expressing about the Game and said “I was able to hang out with some people in the industry afterwards and it does sound like Nintendo is going to have a pretty good year next year. So I would not take the absence of big stuff as like a sign that maybe Breath of the Wild is delayed, or that they don’t have other stuff because it sounds like people at Nintendo are very excited about 2022.” He even casually mentioned that Breath of the Wild 2  is coming in November 2022 when discussing open-world games on the Switch in general and claimed that the game will change open-world games and we expect that too. Breath of the Wild back in 2017 built some really high standards for open-world games and we expect Nintendo to deliver again and repeat the glorious 2017 year!

Well, this certainly shows that we aren’t getting our hands on the sequel to the Breath of the Wild till at least November 2022! This also sets up a wide window for Nintendo to show more content regarding the game and provide us with an official release date for the Game. Hopefully the Nintendo Direct later this year would provide more information soon!
