Cyberpunk 2077 has a great and deep character customisation system. The game allows you to customise your V in many ways, including the hairstyle, face, body structure, physique and even the size of your genitals. However, the game is a true first-person shooter which puts all the customisation to waste. It doesnโt make sense to spend 30 long minutes customising your character when the only time you see yourself is in the mirrors and the photo mode. The game needed a third-person mode and inevitably, the modders have done just that. In this guide, we will talk about everything about the third-person mod in Cyberpunk 2077.
The Third person mod was first released in Jan,2021 by Jelle Bakker. Since then the mod has progressed a lot and still continues to move in the right direction. Earlier the mod had wonky walking animations. Since the game wasnโt meant to be played in the third person modding is simply not enough. Wonky animations, bugs and glitches are inevitable. However, the mod does a great job and makes a great experience for walking around and exploring in the third person.

It was more or less inevitable for a game like Cyberpunk 2077 to get a third-person mod sooner or later. Having a satisfactory third-person mode isnโt quite as straightforward as putting a camera behind the userโs head since the game wasnโt meant to be played in the third person the animations arenโt quite what youโd imagine them to be. Take a sharp turn and you will find all your joints out of place.
How to Install the Thirdperson mod
The Cyberpunk 2077 Third-person mod requires Cyber Engine tweaks to be installed. The earlier version of the mod required Cheat Engine and the Installation was a lot more complicated but the newer version doesnโt need it and is a simple copy-paste installation.
Firstly you will need Cyber Engine tweaks, download the latest version of the Cyber Engine Tweaks here. Make sure that the version of CET you are using is compatible with the version of the game you are using or else the mod will not work.
Download the Cyberpunk 2077 Third-person mod here and extract its contents to the Cyberpunk 2077 directory. (where bin and r6 folders are located).
Upon launching the game CET will ask you to bind a hotkey to bring it up ingame. After binding the key for CET overlay, navigate to the bindings section in CET and bind the hotkeys and input keys for JBB- Third person mod.
