It has been more than a year since Cyberpunk 2077 let the entire game industry down. An unfinished product, full of bugs was delivered to us at the end of 2020 making the year worse than it already was. CD Project Red claimed that the Night city experience will be the most immersive experience ever! However, things didn’t go as planned for the uprising developers. The game was a major letdown with technical issues and missing features which were promised earlier. Cyberpunk 2077 had a huge amount of content missing making the game feel rushed and somewhat lazy despite more than 8 years of development. I didn’t really enjoy my first playthrough of the game as the world felt vague and very unrealistic with the super dumb enemy AI and NPC’s. The combat was boring and the progress didn’t feel rewarding at all. CD project red has released huge patches in an attempt to fix the game but nothing really can save the already sunken ship. That’s what I thought but the talented modders stepped up again and probably saved the game from being a total disaster! After discovering these mods my opinion of the game and the Night city experience a year later totally changed. Here I have listed the best Cyberpunk 2077 mods to make the game perfect!
Important!
All these mods require you to have the Cyber Engine tweak and the Redscript installed. These 2 are absolutely fundamental for the Mods to work! Also, make sure the version of the mods is compatible with your version of the game otherwise you may run into errors!
Installing Cyber Engine Tweaks and Redscript
Download Cyber Engine tweak and Redscript from here!
Extract the downloaded folders from both the Zip files into the root directory of the game! (The one where bin, archive and r6 folders are located). To be more specific the bin folder from Cyber Engine tweak and the engine and r6 folder from the ‘redscript’ need to be pasted in the root directory. Now launch Cyberpunk 2077, Upon launching the Cyber Engine tweak overlay will pop up asking you to bind a hotkey to bring the overlay up. Bind a key of your choice and close the game as we are ready to install the mods now!
Note-If for some reason the overlay doesn’t pop up for you try to check the logs in the following location ‘bin/x64/plugins/cyber_engine_tweaks/cyber_engine_tweaks.log’ and see if the Cyber Engine Tweak launched. Also, make sure that the version of Cyber Engine Tweak you are using is compatible with your version of the game!

1. Full Gameplay Rebalance
I can’t talk enough about this mod! As the name suggests it completely rebalances the game and fixes almost every gameplay-related issue while adding more features to enhance the overall feel of the game! It’s a simple game of extract and pastes from here on. Cyber Engine Tweak makes things so much easier as all you have to do is extract the mod and paste it into the root directory of the game!
2. Better Melee.
FGR already improves on the Combat elements of the game but the better melee mod takes it to the next level. The changes are something that should have been a part of the game from the very beginning! The mod makes the melee combat faster,more engaging and introduces more combos.
The changes this mod brings are quite deep as it makes the mantis blades an absolute killer read them all here in detail!

- Change the file extension from .omod to .zip file and open it up.
- Copy ALL of the files from the Core (Required) directory into Cyberpunk 2077\r6\scripts
- In each directory that has more than one file in it, you MUST copy ONE and ONLY ONE of those files into Cyberpunk 2077\r6\scripts. The files in Finishers are optional (but still only one may be used). Copy only the mods you need from every folder into the scripts folder! It is important to atleast have one from each folder installed to correctly impelement the changes.
3. Enhanced Police
The cops in Cyberpunk were arguably the biggest letdown. I wouldn’t even notice them sometimes as it was so easy to lose them even with the highest threat level. The Enhanced Police mod makes things better as it increases their range and enables police car spawns.

4.Lifepath Bonuses and Gang-Corp Trait
CD project red promised a game with a diverse combat system with a unique variety of enemies. The game consisted of several gangs which felt different in no way during the combat. Lifepath Bonuses and Gang-Corp Trait mod does exactly that and adds depth to the various gang and corp members. In addition to that, the choices and path you choose during the game affects the traits of rival gang members! 5.AI Netrunners enhanced
The Netrunners were supposed to be the most interesting gang in the Night city with amazing hacks and tech making them the most formidable type of enemies. However, a lot of content was cut which made them feel no different than other gangs. The ‘AI Netrunners enhanced’ mod totally enhances the hacking abilities of the netrunners. 6.Advanced Control – Toggle Walk – Holster – Lean Left Right – Cycle Grenades
One of the areas I found the game lacking was the minimalistic controls. No specific key for leaning and no way to change the grenade type without having to pause the game really annoyed me. This is why this mod is super important for me. It makes the controls like any other modern Fps and provides more control during combat. Additionally, it also adds a ‘Toggle walk’ option.

The name is pretty self-explanatory, the ‘Cyber Vehicle Overhaul’ mod improves the speed, handling and brakes of vehicles in the game. It really improves the overall driving feel of the game and the better handling and speed is a total game changer!

8.Cyber Drift – Crowds and Traffic.
The Cyber drift mod improves the overall drift and enhances the quality of traffic. In addition to that, it improves the AI responses to you and improves the overall traffic feel of the Night city!
The mod provides better drift control with counter steering, wheelies, enhanced crowd & traffic behaviours, more parked vehicles & passengers, improved ai w/ faster response times, improved traffic speed and lights.

9. 2077 More Gore
If you are a huge fan of watching blood splashes and more gore this mod is for you! ‘2077 More gore’ adds new high-resolution blood textures to blood burst textures and headshot decals. Making the combat feel more intense and satisfying.

10. StreetStyle – Immersive Fashion System.
StreetStyle adds depth and more meaning to clothing by introducing a brand new system that makes your fashion choices affect the dialogue and even stats. 11.Metro System
Did you know one of the removed features from the game was the Metro system! How cool would it have been to have that in the Night city? Sadly, CDPR never worked through with that. However, the modders have stepped up again after building an entire Metro System into the game. The mod introduces an interactable Metro station that can be used to travel across Night City in First-person and Third-person mode!

I couldn’t pull myself through to play the game during launch with the issues and even lack of content in some areas.
